Vega-Adopted!

Vega-Before

Dobie 4 Picture

Dobie 5 Picture

This beautiful, sweet girl came from the shelter as an owner surrender. She is very emaciated as she weighs just 46 lbs. Her breath has a fruity odor that is usually indicative of ketosis due to starvation. It will take some time to get her up to an ideal weight which could easily be 90 lbs. On her first day at Orphan, she gobbled down 2 bacon cheeseburgers & 5 bowls of puppy chow. She is very loving, eager to please & intelligent. She will be adopted to an indoor home only. For the lucky person or family that adopts her, she will be an absolutely wonderful companion.

Zero-Adopted!

Zero 1 Picture

Zero is gorgeous 8 wk. old puppy that weighs 14 lbs. A very nice couple brought him to us after he was found wandering on a busy road. We believe that he was dumped because he is deaf. Of course, he has no concern about this at all & still does all of the cute puppy things like going up & down the steps for the first time, waddling around the yard & snuggling up in your arms for a nap.

Reese-Adopted!

Reese 1 Picture

For being a mere 7 wks. old, Reese has had a very rough life up to this point. She survived on dead animals & whatever peanut butter she could lick out of a jar until her head got stuck in it for 2 days. She is quite skinny for a pup & almost half of her 8 lbs. is due to worms. She has been dewormed & is now eating all of the puppy chow her little heart (or stomach) desires.

Eddie-Adopted!

Eddie 1 Picture

Eddie is a 1 yr. old owner surrender. He is neutered, UTD on shots, heart worm tested & on flea & heart worm preventative. He will melt your heart with his smoldering good looks & affectionate personality.

Tom and Jerry are cute little furry bundles of joy. They enjoy picking on each other relentlessly. Until they get in trouble by their parents which is quite often.

Bear-Adopted!

Bear Picture

My name is Bear. I was abandoned with my littermates & given away for free at a carwash. Free?! I think I am just priceless. Don't you? I hope my brothers & sisters got great homes. I know that I will cause I am staying at the orphanage. It is a wonderful place where I get to play with other dogs all day long. Meanwhile, the staff spends their days looking for just the perfect forever home for me on the computer. Isn't Petfinder just the greatest thing ever?!

Bear was adopted by Lauren, one of the sorority sisters from Alpha Chi Omega. See a picture of her with Bear on the Volunteer page. Bear & Lauren are in the front center of the group photo. Thank you Lauren for giving Bear such a wonderful home!

Hope (now Rosie)-Adopted!

Hope 2 Picture

Hope was found wandering a busy highway in the middle of the night by a couple of concerned motorists. Law enforcement suggested that she be taken to the shelter. Instead, they brought her to us. She has been spayed, is UTD on all shots & tested for heartworms. She has also been started on heartworm & flea preventative. Her nails were so overgrown that they had to be cut back surgically. Weighing less than 10 lbs., she loves being carried everywhere. This sweet girl deserves to be placed in a home where she will be treated like royalty.

Champ-Adopted!

Champ 2 Picture

A good samaritan found Champ shortly after he had been hit by a car. The motorist that hit him just left him lying in a ditch & drove away. Unable to use his back legs, he tried pulling himself out by using only his front legs. We took him to the vet & x-rays revealed no broken bones. It was determined that he had a bruised & swollen spinal cord. The treatment was steroids & cage rest. He is now doing marvelously. He runs around with the other dogs at Orphan just like a healthy dog should. He has a wonderfully sweet personality & hasn't stopped wagging his tail throughout his entire ordeal. Never once offering to bite even while he was in excruciating pain. This happy boy will offer his new family a lifetime of complete devotion.

Gracie-Adopted!

grace Picture

Gracie is a gorgeous 11 month old Weimeraner. Just 3 months ago, she was found in a dumpster at a local shopping center. She was very thin but is now a healthy weight. She is a little shy at first but you know you've won her over when she performs her wiggly-waggly dance. She is crate & house-trained, walks great on a leash & rides well in the car. Prior to adoption she will be spayed, UTD on shots & microchipped. Just a few of the things this wonderful girl will need to be happy is regular exercise, a secure fenced-in yard and to be a valued member of her new human family. In return, they will be repaid with years of total devotion.
