Mishka is a beautiful, lively 7 month old little girl. She was pulled from the shelter along with Ducati. She has been spayed, UTD on shots, microchipped & started on Revolution for heartworm/flea/tick prevention. She does very well when going for car rides as she really loves them. She is a quite the charmer & gets along great with everyone. Playing with the other dogs & sharing her toys keeps her very busy at the sanctuary.

Ducati-Adopted!

Ducati is not available for adoption through Orphan Network. He will be with us for a short time & we wanted to share his story. We pulled him from the Huntington Cabell Wayne Animal Shelter on 11/10/09 where he resided for 3 wks. Orphan is working in conjunction with 2 very wonderful organizations that made his rescue possible- Doberman Assistance Network & Northcoast Doberman Rescue. We will foster him until he can be transported to NCDR in Columbus, OH. He is horribly emaciated & has a severe case of hookworms for which he is being treated. The Vet believes that he is about 3 yrs. old. He weighs 68 lbs. but is a very large doberman that could easily weigh 110 lbs. when he fills out. He has kennel cough from being in the shelter so long & he is being treated for this also. He was very lucky as he was on the very urgent euthanization list & scheduled to be put down the next day. He is a truly wonderful boy whose life has been forever changed by the hard work, dedication & teamwork of these great organizations. Ducati would like to thank DAN & NCDR!!

Scruffy-Courtesy Post-Adopted!

Scruffy is 9 yrs. old. She’s a sweet dog and is not a barker. Doesn't bother anything in the house and is house trained. She's in excellent health and loves to go for walks and car rides (we spell the word walk or car ride until we're ready to go; she gets very excited). She is part Border collie and part terrier. Has the coloring of the Border collie and coarse hair like the terrier. She sheds year round but doesn't mind getting brushed. She’ll even hop in the tub for a bath. Jet is a sweet 1 yr. old that was found by a neighbor. He had no collar or tags & was malnourished & dehydrated. He had been running the streets for some time as his footpads were very rough & nails were worn down. He has a wonderful, loving personality & he thrives on attention. While he is being petted, he looks at you with total devotion like you are his entire world. He needs a home with active people that will keep him exercised & entertained. He will be a wonderful companion for a very lucky person or family. He has been neutered, is UTD on shots, heartworm tested & started on flea/tick/heartworm preventative.

Destiny-Adopted!

Destiny is a 12 wk. old puppy that was found at a local park near the river. She was laying so still that her rescuer thought that she was dead. Her first night at the rescue was very critical. She slipped in & out of consiousness repeatedly possibly due to dehydration & hypoglycemia. She has made tremendous progress. She loves playing, running & jumping like puppies do. She had ringworm for which she has been treated. Her lesions are now completely healed. Her breed is just an educated guess & her ultimate size should be under 25 lbs.

Malakai-Adopted!

This adorable 12 wk. old puppy was brought to us after he was dumped on an old country road. He was extremely dehydrated & hungry. He is very affectionate & really loves his foster Mom & Dad. He wants to be with them at all times- lying at their feet, sleeping on their laps, shoulders, etc. He is completely crate-trained, house-trained & knows basic commands. He must be an indoor dog as that is his preference. He must have a fenced-in yard. No renters please. Prior to adoption, he will be neutered, UTD on shots, heartworm tested & started on flea/tick/heartworm preventative.

Solo is a wonderful little dog that was surrendered by his owners. He spent 12 hrs. a day in a crate & they wanted him to have a better life. He is housebroken, UTD on shots, neutered, HW tested & has been started on heartworm/flea/tick preventative. He is so much fun to watch running through the house & in the yard playing with his new buddies.

Murdock is an exceptional dog in every way. He is beautiful of course & has a personality to match. He has befriended all of the other dogs & loves to play with them for hours at a time. When he is not busy with his friends, he loves getting lots of attention from people of all ages. Jazzy is just 1 yr. old & has already had several litters of puppies in her short life. Because she was no longer profitable to the breeder, she was religated to the back yard on a chain, before she was given to us. She weighs just 7 lbs. She will bond very quickly to her new family. She is already so happy & excited when she sees her foster family. This is one special little girl. Prior to adoption, she will be spayed, UTD on shots, heartworm tested & started on flea/tick/heartworm preventative. She does have her CKC papers for guarantee of authenticity.

Princess is a 1 yr. old Cockapoo that was an owner surrender. She has a wonderful personality & is such a playful little girl. She feels threatened by bigger dogs & would do better in a home with dogs her size or smaller.

Sinbad-Adopted!

Sinbad came to Orphan with bacterial pneumonia. He had spent most of his life in a garage. His road to recovery has been a long one but he has made tremendous progress. He loves being videotaped while dancing to music with his human friends. Something else he looks forward to is bathtime followed by a quick blow-dry. When he is hand-fed green beans, fruit & pistachios, he gets so excited that he ruffles his feathers.

Zeke is a fun & playful, 6 wk. old Mastiff Mix who was given away by his previous owner. When fully grown, he will be a big boy weighing in at least 100 lbs. or more. He has already outgrown his first puppy collar.

Harley is a wonderful 13 mo. old St Bernard. Weighing in at 127 lbs.(and counting), he is truly a gentle giant. He gets along well with everyone- people, kids, dogs & cats. He is so well-behaved & has a very laid back personality. He is house-trained & will be adopted to an indoor home only. Drooling will be kept to a minimum as he has a "dry mouth". He has been neutered, is UTD on shots, heartworm tested & on heartworm/flea/tick preventative.

Misha was found wandering in the center of a busy road. She is approx.10 wks.old. She has a very sweet personality & enjoys playing with all of the people & animals at the sanctuary.

Shelby is a 9 wk. old puppy that was a drop-off. She is simply adorable. She will probably weigh less than 20 lbs. when she is fully grown.

Ralph is a brave & wonderful little boy who has endured more abuse in his short life than any dog deserves. He is currently being treated for a deep, infected stab wound in his neck. He has numerous bumps all over his body & broken ribs from repeated beatings. Burrs were encased in his matted fur along with over 100 ticks, some of which were on the skin surface but many were deeply embedded in his skin. Despite his injuries & obvious pain, he is more than willing to let us help him. He is so sweet natured, well mannered & is housebroken which even further defies explanation of the abuses he has suffered.

Have you ever seen a more adorable kitten than me? I'm not just another pretty (well, handsome cause I'm a boy) face either. Oh no. Cause I have an extra-sweet personality too (how else do you think I got this name?).

How can you resist my boyish charms? I know that you want to pet me cause I am the softest & cuddliest kitten ever. Well, I guess you'll have to do that in person to get the full effect.

Take one look at me & you'll be mesmerized by my smoldering good looks. I am trying my best not to be a conceited little boy, but my rescuers have taken way more pictures of me than my siblings (I know cause I counted).

Dusty is 1 year old and he is the sweetest little guy! He is housebroken and very well mannered and loving. He is very playful and does wonderful with other doggies his own size. He's a little uneasy with the big guys until he knows whether they'll squash him or not. Once he knows its safe It's PLAYTIME!! You would never know that this sweetie had such a rough start. He has been passed from place to place, but has never given up hope that someday someone would love him. He is now safe and VERY LOVED here at ORPHAN but still needs a home and people that he can call his very own.
